Would you like to learn more about the Alcor standby, stabilization and transport procedures and the role that First Responders play? Attend this hands-on training session and you will come away knowing what to do and how to do it. Whether you are interested in volunteering for the Alcor First Response Team or just learning more about the cryopreservation process, this training will be a great experience and an opportunity to meet others with similar interests.
The two-day training session will be conducted by Alcor Transport Coordinator, Aaron Drake. It offers an introduction to biohazard and safety protocols, airway management, medication administration and ice bath/thumper usage. Participants will practice with a "Dry Run" scenario using actual stabilization equipment. The session will also provide an opportunity to tell the Alcor staff about the emergency response needs and logistics of your local community.
Participation in the training is required to become a member of the Alcor First Responder Team. Team members may be contacted if an Alcor member needs help and will be compensated for participation in a cryopreservation case. Team members who are Alcor members also receive a 75% discount on membership dues (excludes Life Membership).
This training session is open to members of any cryonics organization and local medical professionals. There is no charge for attendance, but each person is responsible for their own travel expenses. Lunch will be provided. If you cannot attend the training but would like to meet local Alcor members and attend a presentation about Alcor, join us for an Alcor Information Session at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 25th. This Information Session is open to anyone who wants to learn more about cryonics, and refreshments will be provided.
